Moodle is a Learning Management System which is used by schools, colleges and also companies etc involved in teaching or training. It is a very comprehensive and flexible system and can be used in a variety of ways.

As part of a thesis, one of the Colaiste Mhuire teachers began a project which involved getting a Moodle installation setup for use as a platform to allow the sharing of teaching resources between teachers.

The school already had a website for the school itself; so the Moodle system was simply placed alongside this using a subdomain of the school’s domain. The system was met with significant interest among the teaching community and was an immediate success. It is currently in use as a platform sharing resources between several teachers.
